Cerkwie, kościoły, wspaniałe rezydencje, zamki i twierdze świadczą o długiej i bogatej historii tych rejonów.

The Milwaukee Fire and Police Commission is calling for an extensive review of the stun gun arrest of Milwaukee Bucks guard Sterling Brown.

The commission wrote to Chief Alfonso Morales asking for a ”full audit” and all body camera video of the arrest. Commissioners want the findings to be turned over to them and the Common Council.

The letter to Morales Cheap Kevin Hogan Jersey , read at a commission meeting Thursday night, follows calls by several City Council members for an investigation into the Brown’s arrest and the subsequent release of police video.

A police officer confronted Brown about 2 a.m. Jan. 26 after he had parked across two handicap parking spaces outside a Walgreens drug store on the city’s south side. The officer called for backup as the conversation with Brown became tense, and a half dozen squad cars responded.

Police video of the arrest shows officers swarming Brown and taking him down when he didn’t immediately take his hands out of his pockets as ordered.

Within seconds, one officer yelled ”Taser! Taser! Taser!” and Brown was on the ground groaning in pain, the video shows.

Three officers involved in the arrest were disciplined, with suspensions ranging from two to 15 days. Eight others will undergo remedial training in professional communications.

Police Chief Alfonso Morales personally apologized to Brown recently when he went to the Bucks’ practice facility to show him the video.

Thursday night is about chasing history for the Nashville Predators.

When it hosts the San Jose Sharks in Bridgestone Arena Josh Jackson Color Rush Jersey , Nashville can break the franchise’s single-season record for points with a victory. Currently sitting at 109 points with a 49-16-11 mark, the Predators can also move a step closer to home-ice advantage for the Stanley Cup playoffs by picking up two points.

Probably of more importance to the players and coach Peter Laviolette, however, is maintaining the level of play they displayed Tuesday night in a 2-1 shootout win over Minnesota. After allowing 13 goals in the previous three games — all losses — Nashville limited the Wild to 23 shots and controlled most of the game.

“It was a good step in the right direction to getting back to the way we need to play as we approach the playoffs,” Laviolette said. “I thought our guys just did a really good job of locking down tonight, especially early on in the game.”

Three points ahead of Tampa Bay for the NHL’s best record Cheap Albert Wilson Jersey , the Predators also lead surging Winnipeg by five points in the Central Division with six games remaining. While they reached the Stanley Cup Finals last spring, the franchise has never captured a division title in its 20-year history.

Laviolette and his team identified their last 12 division games as being particularly critical to achieving a division title. The victory over Minnesota enabled Nashville to go 9-2-1 in that stretch, no small feat since there’s a decent chance the division will send five teams to the Western Conference playoffs.

“We always mark these games against Central Division opponents,” captain Roman Josi said. “They’re always big games in our division. It’s such a tough division and there are so many good teams, so we always make sure we’re ready for those games. It’s obviously good for us to have that record.”

While the Predators are running down history, San Jose (44-23-10) is still trying to catch Vegas in the Pacific Division. Tuesday night’s 3-2 overtime loss in St. Louis gave the Sharks a point Blake McLaughlin Ducks Jersey , but a second one would have helped that long-shot bid.

Despite the outcome, San Jose coach Peter DeBoer wasn’t entirely upset with his team’s performance.

“It was our fifth game in eight days,” he said. “I thought we had a lot of factors going, but I thought the guys dug deep and got a valuable point.”

The Sharks trail the Golden Knights by five points with five games left, and must try for a win in perhaps their biggest jinx building in the league. Dating to the strike-shortened 2013 season, they have won just once in their last 11 visits to Bridgestone.

That includes a 7-1 blowout on Feb. 22 Cheap Taron Johnson Jersey , when Nashville scored four third-period goals and presented Pekka Rinne with his 300th career win in goal. San Jose gave up a whopping 46 shots on net that night, and goalie Martin Jones was pulled after allowing six markers.

Jones (29-18-6, 2.45 goals-against average, .918 save percentage) should be back in net Thursday night after Aaron Dell played in St. Louis. Rinne (41-11-4, 2.25, .929) figures to get the call for the Predators.

Willie O’Ree didn’t know he had broken the NHL’s color barrier when he made his debut in 1958. Martin Brodeur couldn’t see the three Stanley Cup titles and jaw-dropping career ahead when he played his first game in goal for the New Jersey Devils in 1992 and Johnny Pesky Jersey , a year later, Gary Bettman didn’t know he would end up growing the league by leaps and bounds over the next 25 years as its commissioner.

All three will go into the Hockey Hall of Fame together as the headliners of a trailblazing class of 2018 that also includes diminutive forward Martin St. Louis, four-time gold-medal-winning Canadian women’s national team star Jayna Hefford and Russian Alexander Yakushev.

O’Ree was the first black player in the NHL, Bettman has overseen the league’s expansion into a multibillion-dollar industry and Brodeur piled up the most wins and shutouts of any goaltender in NHL history.

”This is an exciting class to be around because everyone has tried to take their game to the next level,” Bettman said Tuesday. ”I really wasn’t focused on whether this was happening now; I was really focused on whether Willie O’Ree was going to be selected because that to me was a very important act for the Hall to take.”

Bettman has been commissioner since 1993, during which time the NHL has expanded its footprint across North America and increased from 24 to 31 teams. In that time, the league has gone from a $437 million business to one with almost $5 billion in revenue. It’s been an occasionally bruising ride, with three work stoppages http://www.ravensauthorizedshops.com/authentic-lamar-jackson-jersey , including one that canceled the entire 2004-05 season and led to the salary cap. But Bettman has been nothing if not a strong leader, and all-time great Wayne Gretzky said the efforts to help each club compete have made the game stronger.

”His leadership and love for hockey is very evident,” Gretzky said. ”Hockey has become more entertaining year after year, thanks in part to his passion for the game.”

Brodeur lifted the Stanley Cup three times with the Devils between 1995 and 2003. He leads all goalies with 691 wins and 125 shutouts in 1,266 regular-season games with the Devils and St. Louis Blues, and he won the Vezina Trophy four times. He won 113 playoff games and had a 2.02 postseason goals-against average. Brodeur also scored two regular-season goals and another in the playoffs – more than any other goalie.

The Montreal native was the last real standup goaltender as the position moved almost exclusively to the butterfly technique, and his puck-handling prowess led the NHL to institute the trapezoid behind the net as a way to increase scoring.

”You play your whole career and you don’t expect to get this phone call, but when it does http://www.packersauthorizedshops.com/authentic-jaire-alexander-jersey , it definitely does feel pretty good,” said Brodeur, the Blues assistant GM who was sitting alongside Hall of Fame defenseman Larry Robinson at prospect camp in St. Louis when he got the news. ”I want to thank the committee for putting me on so early.”

While Brodeur and St. Louis were first-ballot selections, O’Ree had been waiting decades for this honor since making history at the Montreal Forum on Jan. 18, 1958, with the Boston Bruins. He was 32.

A native of Fredericton, New Brunswick, in Eastern Canada Cheap Ed Dickson Jersey , O’Ree finished with four goals and 10 assists in 45 NHL games during the 1957-58 and 1960-61 seasons despite being 95 percent blind in his right eye. O’Ree was the first black player in the NHL but he will be the third inducted into the Hall of Fame, joining Edmonton Oilers goalie Grant Fuhr and Canadian women’s national team captain Angela James.

”Willie paved the path for the rest of us,” Fuhr said. ”In that way he is a true builder of the game. If you look up the word `builder,’ there should be a picture of Willie. He is the Jackie Robinson of hockey.”

Bruins owner Jeremy Jacobs said O’Ree receiving this honor was long overdue, adding ”Willie has been a tremendous figure in our game both on and off the ice for over 60 years.”

Now 82, O’Ree works for the NHL as diversity ambassador, helping with its ”Hockey is for Everyone” initiative. There are now about two dozen black players currently on NHL rosters.

”I knew that there were going to be more black players not only playing pro but eventually getting into the National Hockey League,” O’Ree said. ”Now there’s 31 teams in the league and you can see that the black players and the players of color that are playing there Cheap Sebastian Janikowski Jersey , they’re there because they have the skills and the ability to be in the league.”

St. Louis was a 5-foot-8 winger who put up 1,033 points in 1,134 regular-season games over 17 seasons, winning the Cup with Tampa Bay in 2004 and an Olympic gold medal with Canada in 2014.

”When people tried to discourage me along the way, that’s just life,” St. Louis said. ”I definitely used that as a motivation in trying to prove people wrong.”

Hefford won four Olympic gold medals and seven world championships, putting up 30 points in 26 Olympic games. She said the honor was more emotional than some of her medals because she could share it with so many family members, friends and teammates.

Yakushev became known to North American hockey fans during the 1972 Summit Series between Canada and the Soviet Union Cheap Oren Burks Jersey , with 11 points in eight games. He also won Olympic gold medals in 1972 and 1976.

Hall chairmen Lanny McDonald and John Davidson reached Yakushev in Russia, right after he had come off the ice after playing a game at the age of 71.

”He was not only thrilled (but) .

Kenny Smith is an outsider wanting in. The Detroit Pistons could change that.

Detroit needs a new head coach and reportedly has plans to interview the TNT NBA analyst Broncos Cheap Jerseys , who has no prior coaching experience.

The former first-round draft pick out of the University of North Carolina played in the NBA for a decade, making appearances with six teams. He’s mainly known for his six-year stint in Houston, where the Rockets won championships in 1994 and `95. He hung up all his jerseys in 1997 and put on a suit for TV.

During his final season, Smith made a pit stop in Detroit. He played just nine games for the Pistons.

Smith would not be the first former player to go directly from broadcasting to coaching. Nor is basketball the only sport plucking people out of the booth and plopping them down on the bench; it actually hopped on the trend late compared to baseball.

Here’s some others who paved the path from the booth to the bench:

Aaron Boone (MLFajne

The current Yankees manager spent seven years behind the microphone for ESPN, analyzing what he saw rather than dictating what he wanted. A desire to return to the field was fulfilled in 2017 when New York offered Boone a three-year contract, with a team option for 2021, and he returned to the pinstriped uniform.

During his 12-year professional career, Boone played 54 games for the Yankees in 2003, hitting an ALCS-clinching home run against Boston. He mainly spent his time with the Reds – seven seasons – and joined four other teams before announcing his retirement in 2010. That’s when he made the switch to the broadcast booth.

Right now, the Yankees (35-17) have the second-best record in the majors.

Buck Martinez (MLFajne

Boone actually went to Martinez for advice, because he made a similar move at the turn of the century: Player. Broadcaster. Manager. Of course Vita Vea Color Rush Jersey , Martinez went back to broadcasting after being fired in his second season.

Martinez played for 17 years, finishing with the Blue Jays. He then became part of the club’s broadcast team. In 2001, Toronto made him its new manager.

Martinez returned to broadcasting with the Orioles. That lasted a couple of years until he took his mic back to the Blue Jays in 2010, where he remains. Martinez is in his eighth season as the team’s play-by-play announcer.

Jerry Coleman (MLFajne

Managing didn’t work out too well for Coleman, either. Coleman was in broadcasting for 51 years, giving a voice to baseball until his death in 2014. He took only one year off the job: 1980.

The Padres made Coleman the team’s team manager after eight years in San Diego’s broadcasting booth. He lasted a season, leading the Padres to a 73-89 record, then went right back to where he was most comfortable: behind the microphone. There, the former four-time World Series champion covered two World Series and 18 League Championship Series.

In 2005, Coleman was given the National Baseball Hall of Fame’s annual Ford C. Frick Award that recognizes broadcasters.

Mark Jackson (NBA)

Enough baseball, back to basketball. Jackson dribbled his way through 17 years in the NBA before calling it quits in 2004. From there Kyle Gibson Minnesota Twins Jersey , he spent seven years working for ESPN until the Warriors called in 2011 with a job offer.

Jackson coached the Warriors for three seasons, leading Golden State to back-to-back playoff appearances, with young stars Steph Curry and Klay Thompson. But then he was fired.

Immediately after, ESPN brought Jackson back on its NBA announcing team. He has stayed there ever since and will call the 2018 NBA Finals, where his former team is defending its title.

Steve Kerr (NBA)

Here’s a success story still in the making. Kerr replaced Jackson as Warriors head coach, winning the title in his first season.

But even Kerr isn’t a stranger to the booth. Kerr had no coaching experience prior to the Golden State gig. He did play, though. He’s one of 26 players in NBA history to claim five championship titles. Kerr had also worked as an NBA executive, serving as general manager of the Suns from 2007-10.

Since he was hired away from TNT in 2014, Kerr has had the Warriors in the NBA Finals each season, and they are trying for their third title with him. The Pistons sure wouldn’t mind if Smith could replicate Kerr’s success.

The Minnesota Vikings have agreed to terms on a five-year contract extension with Danielle Hunter, making him one of the top 10 highest-paid defensive ends in the NFL while securing another core player before he could reach free agency.

The deal Authentic Customized Texans Jerseys , which was done on Wednesday, is worth up to $72 million, according to a person with knowledge of the contract who spoke on condition of anonymity because the terms weren’t disclosed by the team.

The deal includes $40 million in guaranteed money, with a $15 million signing bonus. The annual average worth is more than $14 million, on par with fellow Vikings defensive end Everson Griffen.

”I had to get this out of the way,” Hunter said, acknowledging relief to have signed before training camp. ”I didn’t want to be bothered by anything.”

Hunter has 25 sacks, three forced fumbles and two recovered fumbles in three seasons, after being drafted in the third round in 2015 out of LSU. Still only 23 years old, Hunter was a top priority to retain at a premium position. Griffen is 30, and primary backup Brian Robison is 35.

”Just looking forward to getting him locked in and what he’s going to continue to bring not only to this defense and this football team Justin Bethel Jersey Falcons , but also the type of character that he brings,” general manager Rick Spielman said.

Over those past three seasons, Hunter and Griffen have combined for 57 sacks, the second most by a pair of teammates in the league behind Geno Atkins and Carlos Dunlap of the Cincinnati Bengals (58).

The pass rush and run defense provided by these bookends has been a significant part of coach Mike Zimmer’s unit that gave up the fewest points and yards in the NFL last season.

”We build a bond together on defense,” Hunter said. ”We go out there, we know we’re brothers. We fight together. We do our assignments. On and off the field we’re really, really close.

Hunter was third in the NFL with 12 sacks in 2016, the most by a defensive end. Born in Jamaica and raised just outside of Houston, the 6-foot-5, 252-pound Hunter was a classic late bloomer the Vikings targeted with confidence he’d continue to develop with the right coaching to complement his measurable physical skills. Spielman and his scouts have been proven right with that pick.

”I kind of came in with the mindset of just playing football. I had a whole bunch of people in front of me, older guys that were able to show me the way Cheap Joel Iyiegbuniwe Jersey , good coaches and a good coaching staff,” Hunter said. ”The only thing I could do is just come in here and focus and play football.”

The Vikings extended middle linebacker Eric Kendricks earlier this offseason. Outside linebacker Anthony Barr and wide receiver Stefon Diggs are their other two standouts on expiring contracts, with space under the salary cap dwindling. Signing both of them to new long-term deals might not be possible.

They’re plenty happy to at least have Hunter around well into the next decade, though. According to statistics compiled by Vikings coaches, Hunter also has 125 quarterback hurries and 147 total tackles. He has never missed an NFL game to injury, with his only two absences coming in 2015 when he was on the inactive list in the first month of his rookie year.

”It’s all about keep continuing to improve my game. I’ve got to go out there and do what the coaches tell me to do. Now that I have this I can’t relax,” Hunter said. ”I have to keep pounding and grinding.”

Quarterbacks' abilities to throw under pressure and break out of attempted sacks have both been added to the mix.Wiedey's 4/5 rating speaks to other hits (streamlined player progression in franchise mode, draft class creator) and some stumbles (Longshot: Homecoming gets cliched, lack of sideline awareness). A year ago Cheap Derwin James Jersey , a game with as much meaning as the one Saturday night at Pepsi Center would have seemed improbable.

After how the 2016-17 campaign went for the Avalanche, fighting for a postseason berth seemed years away, not a year away

But the improbable has become reality has become in essence a Game 7 to make the playoffs for the Avalanche.

The Avalanche (42-30-9) can erase the taste of a 48-point season with a win over the St. Louis Blues on Saturday night.

The game will decide who earns the second wild card in the Western Conference and a first-round date with the President Trophy winners, the Nashville Predators.

“It will be fun,” Colorado captain Gabriel Landeskog said after Thursday’s 4-2 loss in San Jose. “I’m not surprised it comes down to Game 82 this year. Pepsi Center will be buzzing and so will we.”

Colorado had a chance to clinch the playoffs on its three-game swing through California but went 0-2-1. The Avalanche blew a two-goal, third-period lead in Anaheim on Sunday and lost in overtime, and then couldn’t keep up with Los Angeles or San Jose in the next two games.

The Blues also could have made Saturday’s game a warmup for the postseason. They surged back into the playoff picture by winning eight of nine at the end of March but followed that with a four-game losing streak that knocked them down in the standings

The last loss was a soul-crushing one Wednesday against Chicago. St. Louis led 3-1 at home at one point but the Blackhawks, playing out the string, tied it in the third and won it with a power-play goal with 8.5 seconds left in regulation.

If the Blues had hung on for those 8.5 seconds and get to overtime Youth Jason Sanders Jersey , they would have earned at least a point. They avenged that loss with a 4-1 win in Chicago on Friday night.

It was the first time in 15 games goaltender Jake Allen didn’t start, giving way to backup Carter Hutton. He made 19 saves for the Blues (44-31-6), who jumped over Colorado into the second wild card with 94 points and set up Saturday’s showdown.

St. Louis has a slight advantage over the Avalanche heading into the season finale. The Blues only need to avoid a loss in regulation to hold onto the second wild card. If the two teams end up with the same amount of points St. Louis holds the tiebreaker by virtue of winning the season series.

A Colorado win in regulation will give it 95 points and the playoff date with Nashville.

St. Louis coach Mike Yeo’s gamble of playing Hutton in Friday’s game paid off. He wanted to rest Allen and have him at his best, so he sent the No. 1 goaltender ahead to Denver early Friday so he wouldn’t get in late like the rest of the team.

“As far as Jake goes, I think this is a much-needed break for him,” Yeo told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. “It’s been an awful long time since he’s had two days between a game. He’s played an awful lot of hockey and so it gives him a chance to really collect some much-needed rest and get ready for (Saturday).”

The Minnesota Wild made sure the bad news didn’t defeat them.

Their season-ending road trip sure feels a little lighter now Ryan McLeod Oilers Jersey , with a spot in the playoffs secure.

Zach Parise scored twice and Devan Dubnyk made 22 saves to blank his original team, pushing the Wild past the Edmonton Oilers 3-0 on Monday night.

”I hope it makes them feel good about themselves,” coach Bruce Boudreau said. ”I thought our defense was good.”

With 98 points, matching the fourth-most in franchise history, the Wild did their part. Then Los Angeles chipped in with a victory about 2 1/2 hours later over Colorado that took the pressure off Minnesota’s last three games, at Anaheim, Los Angeles and San Jose. The Wild are nearly locked into third place in the Central Division and a first-round matchup with Winnipeg.

”I don’t know how all this math works out Youth Jalyn Holmes Jersey ,” Boudreau said, before leaving the arena to watch the conclusion of the Avalanche-Kings game at home. ”I just wake up in the morning and hope to see an `X’ by the name.”

Playing for the first time in nearly three years without stalwart defenseman Ryan Suter, the Wild wrapped up their home schedule with a staggering 21-3 shots advantage in the third period. Joel Eriksson Ek added an empty-net goal as the Wild finished 27-6-8 at Xcel Energy Center, the second-best home record in the league.

With rookies Nick Seeler and Carson Soucy, in his NHL debut no less, playing key roles on the blue line, the Wild put together a postseason-caliber performance.

”You need different people to step up and do important things Kalen Ballage Jersey Dolphins , and that’s going to be the case for us,” Dubnyk said. ”That was a good look.”

Cam Talbot made 37 saves for the Oilers, who lost their fifth straight game and ensured a sub-80-point finish for the eighth time in the last nine years.

”The finish line is non-rewarding. You fall behind, you feel like you don’t get a break, you miss a net or something like that, it takes a little bit more out of you,” coach Todd McLellan said. ”We should be more resilient. We’re not right now.”

Parise has been a big part of the push. The Wild are 24-9-7 with him in the lineup Tremaine Edmunds Color Rush Jersey , after he missed the first 39 games of the season recovering from back surgery. Playing next to Mikko Koivu and Mikael Granlund has given him a clear boost.

”As a group, we’re meshing really well together,” Parise said.

The Wild scored the first goal for the first time in seven games, when Parise snagged a bouncing puck at his own blue line that Oilers defenseman Adam Larsson was struggling to control with his skates and broke loose on an unabated path to the net. He snapped a shot though Talbot’s pads just 3:33 into the contest.

Dubnyk then went to work on his fifth shutout of the season, making some difficult saves, including a denial of NHL points leader Connor McDavid’s attempt with his right leg.

Parise provided some padding when he swooped into position to knock in a rebound of Jonas Brodin’s attempt before the midpoint of the second period.

Making the 400th start of his NHL career against the club that drafted him in the first round in 2004, Dubnyk recorded his 133rd win for the Wild since they acquired him in a trade on Jan. 14 Chris Rusin Colorado Rockies Jersey , 2015. No goalie in the league has played in more games (230) or pitched more shutouts (20) since then.

Edmonton won the first two meetings with Minnesota this season, with McDavid registering two goals and two assists, but after the breakthrough in 2016-17 the Oilers have tumbled back down the Western Conference standings. They’re 17-23-4 since the Christmas break.

Talbot was pulled at Calgary on Saturday night after only 11 1/2 minutes, after allowing three goals on seven shots, but McLellan stuck with him and was rewarded with his highest save total in nine appearances since he stopped 40 shots at Florida on March 17.

”We definitely had opportunities to make this a good road trip,” said left wing Milan Lucic, ”but we didn’t do it in Vancouver when we had a real good start the way that we did. We didn’t do it in Calgary and once again here.”

NOTES: Parise has at least one point in seven straight games and 12 goals over his last 19 games Logan Cooke Color Rush Jersey , the third-most in the league since March 1. … Oilers defensemen Andrej Sekera and Yohann Auvitu were each injured in the second period and didn’t return. … With Suter’s absence, center Eric Staal became the Wild’s new ironman by playing in his 161st consecutive contest. He has not missed a game since joining the team prior to last season.

Safety Duron Harmon and his buddies on the New England defense know they have to deal with Marcus Mariota’s ”unique skill” set when the Tennessee Titans visit the Patriots for Saturday night’s AFC divisional playoff game.

”He actually knows when to run and when to pass the ball when scrambling Quenton Nelson Colts Jersey ,” Harmon said Wednesday.

”It’s a very unique skill because a lot of guys once they get scrambling, they’re not even looking downfield anymore, they’re just looking to run. But he always has his eyes downfield – always knows when to run, when to throw the pass. I would say his touch on the ball, too, that gets people open when he’s scrambling.”

The Patriots have had their troubles with mobile quarterbacks this season – and there have even been not-so-mobile quarterbacks that have picked up yards on the ground against the defending champions.

Cam Newton and the Panthers beat them.

So did Kansas City’s Alex Smith, though Smith didn’t hurt them with his legs.

They beat rookie Deshaun Watson and the Texans, but Houston scored 33 points and Watson gained 41 yards on the ground.

The Patriots beat Tyrod Taylor and the Buffalo Bills twice and defeated Jameis Winston and Tampa Bay.

Mariota, who had an 87-yard touchdown run in 2015 Cheap Austin Corbett Jersey , his rookie season, ran for 60 yards on 10 carries in the regular-season finale. He picked up 46 yards on eight attempts in the playoff win over the Chiefs last Saturday.

Mariota had two touchdown passes in the wild-card game, one actually to himself as he caught a pass batted down by Darrelle Revis and took it into the end zone.

He finished off the comeback with a 22-yard TD pass to Eric Decker, but the pass/catch touchdown was enough to make Harmon think.

”It looked like it was meant for them to win,” Harmon said. ”That was … first of all, that’s a very, very hard play to make and that shows you his skill set, his athletic ability – to be able to throw the ball, have it knocked down and be able to catch it where he caught it Jessie Bates III Jersey , and go in and run (on) a scoring dive, it shows his athletic ability. It shows that any time he touches the ball, he’s dangerous.”

Fellow safety Devin McCourty sees the same attributes in Mariota.

”It’s not like if he stays in the pocket he can’t make throws, but when he escapes outside the pocket and he has the ability to run and throw, you honestly really don’t have a shot to stop him, I think,” McCourty said.

”We’ve played quarterbacks like this where we do want to try to keep him in the pocket, but I think that’s just the beginning part of it. We also, when we’re man coverage or zone coverage Rashaad Penny Jersey , we’ve got to be able to play our zones or our man tight and not allow windows or not allow a great pocket for him to sit back there and throw because he’s a good enough passer that he’ll make all the throws on the football field.”

McCourty pointed to a pass Mariota made to Delanie Walker against Indianapolis that was between four players on the sideline.

”That was a tough throw, and that was in the pocket,” he noted. ”But I think we’ll have a better chance that way than him being able to escape, throw it deep or run for 30 or 40 yards. So, it’s going to be all 11 guys kind of playing their job with trying to contain him.”

Mariota was sixth in the NFL in third-down passer rating this season, a list headed by the Patriots’ Tom Brady.

”An extremely athletic guy, so there is a huge factor of mobility with him,” New England defensive coordinator Matt Patricia said. ”But, you know Donte Jackson Panthers Jersey , he’s a very strong-armed quarterback, he can extend plays, he can scramble to run or he can get out of trouble and then find his receivers downfield. He also has a run element to him, and the run game is very extensive.”

NOTES: The Patriots may get both James White and Rex Burkhead back from injury for this game – both are practicing on a limited basis. Burkhead was asked Wednesday how he was feeling. ”Good. Just ready to get back out there … with the team. I’m just excited for the playoffs and everything that’s in store.” … LB Marquis Flowers missed practice Wednesday because of an illness.

WASHINGTON — With their first Stanley Cup playoff berth since 2012 safely in hand Marcedes Lewis Youth Jersey , the New Jersey Devils have one game left to see if they can improve their position when they visit the Washington Capitals on Saturday night.

The Devils (44-28-9) clinched a playoff spot by defeating the Toronto Maple Leafs 2-1 on Thursday night at the Prudential Center.

“We did it. We didn’t rely on anyone. It’s a sense of accomplishment,” Devils forward Brian Boyle told nhl.com. “The battling for playoff positioning and trying to clinch, it’s all part of the fun of it. Emotions rise, tensions rise, you work hard and you get rewarded. We did it together.”

The Devils will finish with at least 97 points — 99 if they defeat the Capitals — far above the 70 points by last season’s club that finished at the bottom of the Metropolitan Division.

With one game remaining, the Devils are in position to clinch the first wild card into the playoffs from the Eastern Conference. They can finish as high as third in the Metropolitan Division or as low as the second wild-card spot.

Against the Leafs, New Jersey fell behind 1-0 in the first period, but Pavel Zacha and Miles Wood scored in the second period. Keith Kincaid finished with 31 saves, including 12 in the third period.

The Devils also earned this spot Tremaine Youth Edmunds Youth Jersey , going 10-2-1 in their past 13 games.

“It’s a credit to a lot of guys in here for just coming up big when the pressure is on,” forward Taylor Hall told nhl.com. “That’s what I’m proud of, how we’ve played through the stretch here.”

Washington’s playoff position is set, though their opponent is not. The Metropolitan Division winner will draw the top wild-card team, which may not be decided until Sunday when the Florida Panthers face the Boston Bruins.

The Capitals (48-26-7), the two-time defending Presidents’ Trophy winners, watched the Nashville Predators secure this season’s trophy with a 4-3 win over the Capitals on Thursday night at Capital One Arena.

“But I like the way we’re playing,” Capitals coach Barry Trotz told The Washington Post after the Capitals lost for just the second time since March 20. “We’re playing with lots of speed, we’re playing with lots of pace Taven Bryan Youth Jersey , and that was a good test.”

Evgeny Kuznetsov scored twice for Washington and Alex Ovechkin scored his NHL-leading 47th goal, meaning he will need a hat trick Saturday night to reach 50 goals for the eighth time.

“Right now, our focus is not on 50, our focus is on the playoffs,” Ovechkin told nhl.com. “And being in shape. We didn’t get hurt. That’s the most important thing.”

Kuznetsov, who added an assist, posted his 82nd point of the season and became the 16th player in franchise history to reach 80 and the first player other than Ovechkin and Nicklas Backstrom to do it since Alexander Semin in the 2009-10 season.

Kuznetsov’s 27 goals this season are a personal season high.

Phillip Grubauer made 25 saves for Washington. Braden Holtby will likely start against the Devils, and the wait will begin for Trotz to reveal his playoff goaltending plans.

In Holtby’s last three starts, he is 2-1-0 with a 2.35 goals-against average and a .931 save percentage.

The Nationals could use a spark before the July 4 fireworks go off in D.C. Washington is at risk of falling below .500 for the first time since May 2 as it continues a series against Boston at 11 a.m. EDT. The Red Sox thumped the Nationals 11-4 on Tuesday John Ross Youth Jersey , giving Washington its fourth straight loss and 16th in 21 games to fall to 42-42. That slide has the preseason NL East favorites chasing the Braves and Phillies in the division. Erick Fedde (1-3, 6.00) tries to stop Washington’s skid against Boston left-hander Eduardo Rodriguez (9-3, 4.11).

THE SHO GOES ON

Shohei Ohtani is back from the disabled list, albeit without full use of his electric right arm. The Japanese two-way sensation has been cleared to hit and was in the Angels’ lineup as a designated hitter Tuesday night, but he won’t be pitching anytime soon due to a Grade 2 sprain of his ulnar collateral ligament suffered more than three weeks ago. Ohtani has received stem cell therapy and a platelet-rich plasma injection on his right elbow, and it’s unclear if he’ll be able to return to the mound this year. For now, Los Angeles welcomes him as a hitter. He entered Tuesday batting .289 with a .907 OPS and six homers in 114 at-bats.

ROTATION RESET

Gerrit Cole (9-2) will pitch on regular rest for the Astros after a slight tweak to their rotation. Lance McCullers Jr. was initially scheduled to start at Texas Braden Smith Colts Jersey , but Cole will pitch instead. Justin Verlander (9-4) will follow Thursday at home against the White Sox and McCullers goes Friday. Manager A.J. Hinch said the switch keeps Cole and Verlander pitching every fifth day, and provides extra rest for McCullers (9-3) and Charlie Morton (10-2). The reset rotation means likely All-Star selection Verlander is scheduled for the final game before the break. ”This is always going to be the priority,” said Hinch, the All-Star manager who then won’t have Verlander available to pitch for the AL team on July 17 in Washington D.C.

BAUER POWER

Trevor Bauer tries to carry over an outstanding June when the Indians play at Kansas City. Bauer (7-6, 2.45) was 3-3 with a 2.18 ERA last month, striking out 62 batters in 41 1/3 innings. He gets probably his easiest test of the year against the Royals, who scored a major league-low 58 runs in June – the second-lowest output was Tampa Bay at 87.

Zach Eflin has made all the difference for the Philadelphia Phillies against the National League’s top team.

Rhys Hoskins and Andrew Knapp hit home runs and Eflin beat the Milwaukee Brewers for the second time in a week Mike Hughes Vikings Jersey , helping the Phillies strand 15 runners in a 4-1 victory on Saturday.

Philadelphia is 2-3 against NL-leading Milwaukee this season, allowing 37 runs over the three losses. Both victories have been pitched – and pitched well – by Eflin.

”Very efficient, very poised,” Phillies manager Gabe Kapler said of his starter.

Eflin (4-2) gave up one run in five innings.

”I kind of got in a little funk in the first inning but was able to put that behind me and put up four solid frames after that,” Eflin said.

He was removed for a pinch-hitter in the sixth after throwing only 73 pitches.

”Obviously, if his spot doesn’t come up in the lineup there, we send him back out and try to get more length out of him because he was that good today Derrius Guice Jersey ,” Kapler said.

Milwaukee scored 13 runs against the Phillies in a win Friday night before being stymied by Eflin and four relievers. Hector Neris pitched the ninth for his 10th save in 13 chances.

The Brewers scored in the first on Travis Shaw’s single.

Hoskins hit a towering home run in the fourth off the window of a restaurant on Miller Park’s third level to tie it. Junior Guerra (3-5) had retired eight in a row before Hoskins, who also doubled, singled and walked, hit his ninth homer.

”Obviously, he set the tone with the big home run to left field,” Kapler said. ”It is incredibly important for us to have him swinging the bat like he is.”

The Phillies took the lead in the fifth on Knapp’s leadoff homer to straightaway center.

”I am not trying to go and hit home runs,” Knapp said. ”That is not who I am Uchenna Nwosu Jersey , but it is nice to pop one every once in a while.”

Eflin gave up three hits, struck out six and walked one. He helped his cause by picking off Lorenzo Cain at first base with one out in the fourth.

Philadelphia extended its lead in the sixth when J.P. Crawford drew a two-out, bases-loaded walk from reliever Boone Logan – Milwaukee pitchers walked a season-high 10. Cesar Hernandez followed with an infield single.

”Too many walks, period,” Milwaukee manager Craig Counsell said. ”The walks are going to bite you for sure.”

DONE DEAL

The Brewers sent 22-year-old infielder Wendell Rijo to the New York Yankees to complete the May 25th trade for catcher Erik Kratz. Rijo had been playing with Double-A Biloxi in the Brewers’ minor league system.

PATIENCE PAYS OFF

Crawford struck out twice but drew three walks. ”J.P. Crawford saw 40 pitches today,” Kapler said. ”I’ll repeat that. J.P. Crawford saw 40 pitches.”

LOGAN STRUGGLING

Brewers’ left-handed reliever Boone Logan continues to struggle to get lefties out in key situations. ”This is his job and it has to be his role to get these outs,” Counsell said.

EXCLUSIVE CLUB

Ryan Braun collected his 200th career stolen base in the fifth inning Lamar Jackson Ravens Jersey , making the Brewers’ outfielder the only active player with at least 300 home runs and 200 steals.

TRAINER’S ROOM:

Phillies: Placed RHP Luis Garcia on 10-day disabled list with a strained right wrist and optioned RHP Mark Leiter Jr. to Triple-A Lehigh Valley. Recalled RHPs Yacksel Rios and Jake Thompson from Lehigh Valley.

Brewers: 2B Jonathan Villar returned after missing two consecutive games with a calf injury.

UP NEXT

Phillies: Aaron Nola (8-2) takes the mound in the three-game series finale. Nola is 3-0 with a 1.38 ERA in four career starts against the Brewers.

Brewers: Chase Anderson (5-5) is 1-2 with a 5.85 ERA in four career starts against the Phillies. He has not faced Philadelphia since earning a 4-1 victory on June 2, 2016, at Citizens Bank Park.

Joe Sargent/Getty ImagesDallas Cowboys defensive tackle David Irving unloaded on the media for speculating about his absence from organized team activities this week.聽In a post on Instagram Marcedes Lewis Youth Jersey , Irving wrote that he wished the "media would tell the truth about why" he's really not at OTAs:It's unclear exactly why Irving isn't at OTAs, though the 24-year-old has had an eventful offseason.聽Irving's ex-girlfriend聽accused聽him of domestic violence in April, but police in Frisco聽closed the case聽in May after she recanted her statement.聽Cowboys defensive coordinator Rod Marinelli聽told reporters聽on May 28 that Irving was "not in shape" because "he's been in and out [of the offseason conditioning program]."The Cowboys signed Irving off the Kansas City Chiefs practice squad in 2015. He was聽suspended聽four games last year for violating the NFL's policy on performance-enhancing drugs but still set a career high with seven sacks in eight games. Toronto Maple Leafs coach Mike Babcock stood at the podium and fought back tears, the grief resonating across Canada and the NHL.

A bus crash in his home province of Saskatchewan left 14 dead and 15 injured, three critically. A junior hockey team Cheap Harold Landry Jersey , the Humboldt Broncos, was headed to a playoff game Friday afternoon when a truck collided with its bus. Among the dead were the team’s coach and captain.

”It’s got to rip the heart out of your chest,” Babcock, who grew up in Saskatoon, said at Air Canada Centre. ”We pray for those families and think about them. Horrific Logan Woodside Jersey , horrific accident.”

Added NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman: ”The NHL mourns the passing of those who perished and offers strength and comfort to those injured while traveling to play and be part of a game they all love.”

Toronto center Tyler Bozak said he had difficulty sleeping after hearing the news about the crash near Nipawin.

”You can’t really put into words, anything,” Bozak said before Saturday’s regular-season finale against the Montreal Canadiens. ”I can’t imagine what everyone’s going through back in Saskatchewan.”

Colorado Avalanche coach Jared Bednar grew up in Humboldt. He said a friend’s son plays goaltender for the Broncos and survived the crash.

”He went to surgery last night in Saskatoon, and hopefully he’s doing better,” Bednar said from Denver. ”It’s a tough time for that town. It’s a tight-knit community. It’s only 6 Taven Bryan Youth Jersey ,000 people.”

Former NHL player Sheldon Kennedy well understands the ”state of shock and confusion” people are feeling. Kennedy was involved in a crash in 1986 that killed four players when a bus carrying the Swift Current Broncos hit a patch of ice and crashed.

”I think one thing that we underestimate with the impact of trauma and PTSD and going through things like this is the magnitude of the impact,” he said. ”That is what I can’t stress enough.”

Patrick Marleau of the Toronto Maple Leafs was a boy in Saskatchewan when the Swift Current crash happened.

”It’s something you remember when you’re that young,” he said. ”You see the players wearing the logo on their jersey for the players that were lost. It definitely hits home. Growing up around Swift Current, it was always in people’s mind. There’s memorials. They’re never forgotten.”

Babcock has driven the stretch of two-lane highway north of Tisdale where the team was heading to play Game 5 of a semifinal against the Nipawin Hawks.

”I know that road pretty good,” he said. ”It didn’t seem like a big spot James Daniels Bears Jersey , it’s not mountains or anything like that, but accidents do happen.”

Marleau knows the hold the game has in his country, and how ”hockey is everything in Canada.”

”But in Saskatchewan, every community’s fairly small,” he said. ”So everybody knows everybody and you try and look out for each other and take care of each other.”

The Canadian Press and AP Sports Writer Pat Graham in Denver contributed to this report.
