Cerkwie, kościoły, wspaniałe rezydencje, zamki i twierdze świadczą o długiej i bogatej historii tych rejonów.

Dwane Casey lost his job in Toronto because the Raptors wanted to advance further in the playoffs.

In Detroit Vita Vea Buccaneers Jersey , it would be an accomplishment if Casey can simply get the Pistons into the playoffs.

The Pistons hired the NBA coach of the year finalist Monday, hoping he can help the three-time NBA championship franchise regularly reach the postseason and eventually compete again for titles.

”Dwane is one of the most successful and highly respected coaches in our league,” Pistons owner Tom Gores said. ”He’s a great communicator and a leader who will connect with our players and accelerate their growth. Having spent many hours with Dwane over the last few weeks, I’m confident he is the right person to get us to the next level.”

A month after being fired by the Raptors , Casey agreed to a five-year deal to become head coach of the Pistons, two people familiar with the situation told The Associated Press on Monday. The people spoke on condition of anonymity because the team had not announced the move, which was first reported by ESPN.

Casey led Toronto to a team-record 59 wins this year and helped the franchise earn the top seed in the Eastern Conference for the first time, a performance that won him coach of the year honors from his peers at the National Basketball Coaches Association. He had one year remaining on a three-year, $18 million dollar extension when he was fired shortly after Toronto was swept by the Cleveland Cavaliers. He was 320-238 in seven seasons and is Toronto’s winningest coach.

The Pistons said Casey has already started work, including meetings with players, and will be introduced at a news conference next week.

Detroit had been looking for a coach for more than month since firing Stan Van Gundy Cheap Da'Ron Payne Jersey , who was also its president of basketball operations. Michigan coach John Beilein was a finalist for the job before withdrawing his name from consideration last week and San Antonio Spurs assistant Ime Udoka also was a candidate.

”I’m confident that this team has the pieces in place to compete at a very high level,” Casey said. ”There is a lot of talent, a solid core and some exciting young players eager to get better. We’re getting to work right away on the things that will make us all successful.”

Casey certainly has work to do.

The Pistons have made the playoffs only once in nine years after advancing at least to the Eastern Conference finals six straight years, winning the 2004 NBA title and falling a victory short of repeating as champions in 2005. They do not appear to have much flexibility to make significant changes this offseason.

Detroit acquired Blake Griffin in a blockbuster trade this past season and that wasn’t enough to push Detroit into the playoffs. An injury to point guard Reggie Jackson derailed what looked like a promising season. If healthy, the Pistons do potentially have an intriguing nucleus with Griffin, Jackson and Andre Drummond.

”In our meetings he displayed great insight into what this roster can accomplish, and great passion about our city and the team’s role in bringing people together,” Gores said. ”He’s an outstanding man with impressive character. He embodies our culture and will be a great representative for our franchise.”

The 61-year-old Casey is getting his third shot to lead an NBA team.

He coached the Minnesota Timberwolves for a little more than one season, going 53-69. He also has experience in the league as an assistant with Dallas and Seattle.

Casey, who is from Morganfield, Kentucky James Washington Jersey , played for the Wildcats and helped them win the 1978 NCAA title and began his coaching career the next year as a graduate assistant under Joe B. Hall. He later back to campus to work as an assistant for Eddie Sutton. He has five years of coaching experience in Japan and has spent time around the game in Europe.

Under Casey, the Raptors won four Atlantic Division titles and advanced to the playoffs in five consecutive seasons. But Toronto couldn’t get past Cleveland, losing to LeBron James and the Cavs in each of the past three playoffs, getting swept this year and last year.

Detroit moved into a new downtown arena last season, but with the exception of some brief success after trading for Griffin, the team didn’t create much buzz. The Pistons are still looking to hire someone to head basketball operation. They did bring in Ed Stefanski as a senior executive.

Marc-Andre Fleury was having such a good time Thursday night Derrius Guice Redskins Jersey , he joined in when the sold-out crowd at T Mobile Arena started doing the wave.

And why not?

Fleury stopped 33 shots for his third shutout of the playoffs, and the Vegas Golden Knights went on to beat the San Jose Sharks 7-0 in Game 1 of the Western Conference semifinals.

”I’ve always been a big fan (of the wave), I saw it coming around, heard the music going, sometimes I try to have some fun,” Fleury said with a wide smile. ”We did our best to stay sharp for that first game and I think we did. I thought we had the jump on them right away and that was a big part of the win tonight.”

Fleury, who improved to 5-0 in the playoffs, got his 13th career shutout in the playoffs – and second straight. He also blanked Los Angeles 1-0 in Game 4 of the first round.

After getting seven goals from seven different players during a four-game sweep of the Los Angeles Kings in the opening round, the Golden Knights matched that with seven players scoring for them on Thursday.

Cody Eakin, Erik Haula and Jonathan Marchessault scored 1:31 apart early in the first period to get Vegas going. Alex Tuch, Shea Theodore, Colin Miller and James Neal also scored, Reilly Smith and William Karlsson each had three assists, and Marchessault and David Perron added two each.

”It was a great game for us, obviously we played a full 60 minutes and that’s what you want from your team in the playoffs,” Vegas coach Gerard Gallant said. ”It wasn’t even about the seven goals, it was about how we played the game.”

The Golden Knights, the first team from the opening round to advance, showed no sign of rust after having nine days off since completing their first-round sweep over the Kings. From the opening puck drop, Vegas skated fast, its passes were crisp Byron Jones Jersey , and the players were in synch with one another. It has now outscored its opposition 14-3 in five games.

”We got better in practice, we ramped it up, so we were excited to get going.” Neal said. ”We talked about having a good first shift and I thought every guy did that tonight. I thought we went to the net well. We did good things, for us I think we have to look at them, they’re going to be a hungry team, they’re going to be a lot better. They’ll be putting that one behind them pretty quick and looking to be a better hockey team so we gotta be ready.”

San Jose, which swept Anaheim in the first round, looked out of sorts by the time Vegas put its first three in the net just 6:02 into the game, and the Sharks lost their cool early in the third period, when Evander Kane was ejected for cross-checking Pierre-Edouard Bellemare in the face after a whistle.

Martin Jones, who stopped 128 of 132 shots in the first round against the Ducks, was pulled a little more than three minutes into the second period after allowing five goals on 13 shots. Backup goalie Aaron Dell came in and finished with 19 saves.

It was the Sharks’ worst loss in playoff history. Detroit blanked San Jose 6-0 in the 1995 Western Conference semifinals.

”We had a laundry list of issues today,” San Jose coach Peter DeBoer said. ”It’s obviously not pretty, we know we have to do better across the board. It’s on us to respond now.”

Eakin started the scoring barrage when he deflected Brayden McNabb’s wrist shot from the point past Jones 4:31 into the game. Before the public-address announcer could trumpet the game’s first goal, Haula finished Tuch’s rush to the net 26 seconds later with a sniper past Jones to double Vegas’ lead.

Marchessault made it 3-0 when he fired a shot from inside the circle past Jones, notching his first career playoff goal. Tuch capped the scoring in the opening period when he sliced through four defenders, made a swift move to his forehand for a wrist shot that beat Jones for a power-play goal.

Jones’ night ended 3:28 into the second when Smith threaded a pass to Theodore, who promptly tipped it into the twine to give Vegas a 5-0 lead.

While Kane was called for a game misconduct, Joe Pavelski went off at the same time for slashing, giving Vegas a 5-3 edge on the ice. The Golden Knights took full advantage, as Miller’s one-timer blazed past Dell to make it 6-0 at 4:32 of the third.

Neal Breeland Speaks Chiefs Jersey , who had a goal overturned in the second period, extended the lead to 7-0 when he took Perron’s pass and wrapped it around past Dell on the power play at 8:09.

NOTES: Vegas’ four goals in the first period marked the fifth tim1e this season it netted four in one period. … It was the third time this season the Sharks allowed four goals in a period. … No. 1 UFC featherweight contender Brian Ortega, who fill fight champion Max Holloway for the title on July 7, was in attendance.

鈥?As their delirious fans sang their theme song and their owner lifted the Lombardi Trophy, the Philadelphia Eagles’ finally could breathe freely.Yo, Philly, you really did beat Tom Brady and the New England Patriots in a thrilling Super Bowl that rewrote the offensive record book.Nick Foles guided the drive of a lifetime, Zach Ertz made a bobbling touchdown catch that had to survive replay review, and an exhausted defense came up with not one but two stands in the final moments Sunday for a 41-33 victory. For the first time since 1960, the Eagles are NFL champions.“Fly Eagles Fly,” indeed.“We’ve played this game since we were little kids, we dreamed about this moment,” game MVP Foles said. “There’s plenty of kids watching this game right now dreaming about this moment and someday will be here.”In a record-setting shootout between backup QB Foles and five-time champ Brady of the favored Patriots, Foles led a pressure-packed 75-yard drive to the winning touchdown, 11 yards to Ertz with 2:21 to go .Then Brandon Graham strip-sacked Brady and Derek Barnett recovered, setting up rookie Jake Elliot’s 46-yard field goal for an 8-point lead.Brady got his team to midfield, but his desperation pass fell to the ground in the end zone.“For us, it was all about one stop we had to make. We went out here and made that one stop,” Graham said. The underdog Eagles (16-3), even injured starting quarterback Carson Wentz, came bolting off the sideline in ecstasy while Brady sat on the ground Dak Prescott Cowboys Jersey , disconsolate. It was the first Super Bowl title for Philadelphia (16-3), which went from 7-9 last season.“If there’s a word (it’s) called everything,” Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie said. “That’s what it means to Eagles fans everywhere. And for Eagles fans everywhere, this is for them.”Super Bowl MVP Foles orchestrated the victory with the kind of drive NFL MVP Brady, a five-time champion, is known for. The drive covered 14 plays, including a fourth-down conversion.“I felt calm. I mean, we have such a great group of guys, such a great coaching staff,” Foles said. “We felt confident coming in, and we just went out there and played football.”The Eagles had to survive a video replay because ball pop into the air as Ertz crossed the goal line.“If they would have overturned that, I don’t know what would have happened to the city of Philadelphia,” Ertz said. “But I’m so glad they didn’t overturn it.”The touchdown stood 鈥?and so did thousands of green-clad Eagles fans who weren’t going to mind the frigid conditions outside US Bank Stadium once they headed out to celebrate. But not before a rousing rendition of “Fly Eagles Fly” reverberated throughout the stands once the trophy was presented to Lurie. Later, fans danced along with the “Gonna Fly Now,” the theme from “Rocky,” the city’s best-known fictional underdog. The Patriots (15-4) seemed ready to take their sixth championship with Brady and coach Bill Belichick in eight Super Bowls. Brady threw for a game-record 505 yards and three TDs, hitting Rob Gronkowski for 4 yards before Stephen Gostkowski’s extra point gave New England its first lead, 33-32.Then Foles made them forget Wentz 鈥?and least for now 鈥?with the gutsiest drive of his life.“We couldn’t make a play to give the ball back to the offense,” Patriots cornerback Stephon Gilmore said.Foles has been something of a journeyman in his six pro seasons, but he has been spectacular in four career playoff games. He finished 28 of 43 for 373 yards and three TDs.The combined 1,151 yards were the most in any modern NFL game Andy Dalton Jersey , and Brady’s 505 were the most in any playoff contest. The 40-year-old master finished 28 of 48 and picked apart the Eagles until the final two series.Brady indicated he will return for a 19th season even as Gronkowski was hedging on his future.“I mean it’s 15 minutes after the game ended, so I’d like to process this a little bit,” Brady said. “I wouldn’t see why I wouldn’t be back.”Gronkowski, who has played eight superb but injury-riddled years, said “I am definitely going to look at my future.”It was such a wild game that Foles caught a touchdown pass , and Brady was on the opposite end of a Danny Amendola throw that went off his fingertips.Eagles coach Doug Pederson brought home the championship in his second year in charge. Belichick is 5-3 in Super Bowls and his teams have only a plus-4 overall margin in those games. So this one was in keeping with that trend: breathtaking and even a bit bizarre.Brady and the Patriots looked ready for another comeback by opening the second half with a 75-yard touchdown drive. Gronkowski was unstoppable, grabbing four passes for 69 yards, including the 5-yard score.Philly didn’t flinch, answering with a precise 75-yard march and three more third-down conversions; the Eagles were 10 for 16. The last was on Foles’ perfect pass to Clement over double coverage. The rookie’s reception was upheld by review, and the Eagles were back on top by 10.Brady shrugged and, getting steadfast protection, connected with Chris Hogan from the 26 for another touchdown. When all the Eagles could manage was Elliott’s 42-yarder for a 32-26 lead, it seemed inevitable the Patriots would go in front, then become the first repeat Super Bowl winner since they did it in the 2004 and ’05 games.Foles, Ertz, and 鈥?at last 鈥?a revitalized defense said otherwise. The weird image of Brady ambling downfield on a pass pattern came three plays after New England lost receiver Brandin Cooks to a concussion on a vicious but clean hit by Malcolm Jenkins in the second quarter. Amendola’s pass required an over-the-shoulder grab and the ball fell off Brady’s outstret.

Drop into just about any bank or supermarket or sports bar in the Kansas City metro area these days and there’s a good chance you’ll see one of several photographs from just a few years ago hanging on a wall.

It might be Yordano Ventura unleashing a fastball. Or Eric Hosmer sliding into home at Citi Field in New York. Or Wade Davis with his arms thrust high into the air Derick Brassard Penguins Jersey , his blazing fastball having just closed out Game 5 of the World Series and making the Kansas City Royals the world champions.

More than likely, you’ll find the now-iconic photograph of Union Station, where an estimated 400,000 people turned out to celebrate the club’s first title in three decades.

Those photos are reminders of better times. And how quickly things can change.

The Royals, who were indeed baseball royalty in 2015, are now neck and neck with the Orioles for the worst record in baseball. They’ve traded off their star closer, their best players are struggling and the prospects that might one day raise them from the abyss are years away from joining the club.

”The record is what it is. The hitting is what it is. The pitching is what it is,” said Royals manager Ned Yost, who presided over the rebuild that led to back-to-back World Series appearances. ”I have to continue to lead. We have to make sure this year has not been a waste.”

How did things fall apart so quickly?

To start, the Royals doled out big contracts to players that have not produced. Left fielder Alex Gordon consumes 14 percent of the payroll in the third year of a $72 million, four-year deal, but he’s hitting just .247 with five homers and 15 RBIs. Right-hander Ian Kennedy consumes 11 percent of the payroll in the third year of a $70 million, five-year deal, and he’s 1-8 with a 5.11 ERA.

The few stars that remain on the roster have likewise struggled to produce.

Salvador Perez likely will see his streak of five straight All-Star games end. The catcher Dante Pettis Jersey , in the third year of a $52 million, six-year deal, is hitting .255 with 11 homers and 33 RBIs.

Good luck winning many games that way.

The Royals were 25-61 heading into their off day Thursday and had lost 24 of their last 28 games. They needed to go 38-38 the rest of the way just to avoid the ignominy of 100 losses.

Making things worse: The Royals are losing that many games with a payroll of about $144 million.

Another reason for the precipitous slide was year after year of poor drafts. Only one of their 13 first-round picks since 2010 is currently on the 25-man roster; Hunter Dozier is hitting .223 in 44 games as he struggles to lock down an everyday job.

”As a young guy you know you’re going to fail, and in some ways we want you to fail because that’s how you’re going to get better,” said Yost, who is going through the same slow learning process with infielder and erstwhile top prospect Adalberto Mondesi.

The son of longtime big leaguer Raul Mondesi, he is hitting .214 in 42 at-bats this season.

”We also don’t want to heap too much on their shoulders,” Yost said, ”so it’s balancing act.”

Maybe that’s why the Royals have been slow to gut their roster in favor of a complete rebuild, even if that appears to be coming. They’ve already traded utility outfielder Jon Jay to the Diamondbacks and star closer Kelvin Herrera to the Nationals, getting five prospects in return that the Royals hope will help restock a farm system that remains one of the worst in baseball.

More moves could be coming, too. The Royals are hopeful of trading third baseman Mike Moustakas, who signed a one-year deal when no long-term offers materialized last offseason. Versatile infielder Whit Merrifield could land a few solid prospects, and left-hander Danny Duffy and even Perez could be made available Myles Garrett Browns Jersey , though both have torpedoed their value with poor seasons.

The combination of an old and bad team has been made even worse by the fact that the Royals are, well, pretty boring. They don’t hit an abundance of homers. Their starting rotation includes the first two pitchers to hit 10 losses in the majors. There are no young stars yet worth watching.

As a result, the Royals are drawing an average of 20,283 fans to Kauffman Stadium. That’s a drop of more than 7,000 from last season and more than 13,000 from their championship season.

Still, for all the gloom, the typically irascible Yost has taken a decidedly optimistic approach to this season. He’s been through these long and painful rebuilds and come out the other side.

It takes patience. It takes smart moves. It takes more patience.

”There’s a lot of things to look at that you’re happy with, even though the record is what it is,” he said. ”There is progress that you’re going to see on the back end, in the light, just as we did in 2013 and 2014, when we turned the corner the last time.”

In their search for a franchise quarterback Cheap Isaiah Wynn Jersey , the New York Jets will work out Wyoming’s Josh Allen in the next week and don’t plan to have a private session with Southern California’s Sam Darnold.

Jets general manager Mike Maccagnan said Monday at the NFL meetings that the organization has had ”quite a bit of exposure” to Darnold, and bringing in any player for a predraft workout is ”no big shocker.”

New York traded up from the sixth overall spot to No. 3. Unlike acting owner Christopher Johnson, who the previous day pretty much affirmed a quarterback would be the choice, Maccagnan wasn’t dropping any hints.

”We acted a little early on it,” Maccagnan said of the deal with Indianapolis that also cost the Jets three second-round picks. ”We felt good about our research, inquired with other teams … three is a position we’re comfortable being in. We feel very good about what may potentially be there at No. 3 and feel we can control our destiny.”

The price tag wasn’t too steep, either, Maccagnan emphasized, noting the Jets kept their 2019 first-rounder.

As for which of the top quarterback prospects the Jets might be targeting – UCLA’s Josh Rosen and Oklahoma’s Baker Mayfield are considered the others – Maccagnan was mum.

Same with whether Penn State running back Saquon Barkley or North Carolina State defensive end Bradley Chubb, and everyone else in next month’s draft.

He did say the Jets spoke with Cleveland about the top spot, but not with their fellow owners of MetLife Stadium, the Giants, concerning the No. 2 position. While the Browns are widely expected to go for a quarterback, new Giants coach Pat Shurmur has thrown his support behind veteran Eli Manning. The Giants also could trade down Minkah Fitzpatrick Dolphins Jersey , lifting a team with quarterback needs above the Jets.

Maccagnan isn’t losing sleep over that prospect, though he recognizes the need to find that franchise quarterback.

”Until you acquire that, you are constantly looking to find one,” he said. ”Our focus is to identify and acquire one of those; it may be someone on the roster, or elsewhere.”

Currently on the roster are four quarterbacks: journeyman Josh McCown, who comes off a strong year shortened by a broken left hand in December; Teddy Bridgewater, signed in free agency in his comeback from a severe knee injury in Minnesota; and 2017 backups Bryce Petty and Christian Hackenberg. If you see a franchise quarterback in that group, please let Maccagnan know.

Maccagnan further explained the Jets’ withdrawal of a contract offer to Ndamukong Suh, the standout (and expensive) defensive tackle cut by Miami this month. Johnson said Sunday it had been rescinded.

”We extended an offer and there was a deadline and it passed,” Maccagnan said. ”We had to determine if we wanted to stay in or pull out and we pulled out.

”He’s a very good player. You watch on tape and he still has the ability to be dominant. We felt good about potentially having him on our roster. It was a one-year contract; we could potentially add him and evaluate it a year from now.”

Not committing to Suh helps keep the Jets far under the salary cap heading toward 2019. It’s conceivable they could have more money than any team next offseason, perhaps $100 million in space.

”It’s hard to predict,” Maccagnan said, ”but in every free agency there are good values to be had.”

The New York Giants have released five players Terrell Edmunds Game Jersey , but only one who saw action in a regular-season game last season.

The Giants announced the moves Monday, four days before the start of a rookie minicamp.

Released were safety Ryan Murphy Clay Matthews Jersey Youth , guard Damien Mama, receiver Canaan Severin Cole Beasley Jersey Womens , running back Terrell Watson, and punter Austin Rehkow.

Murphy played in the final three contests in 2017 and had one tackle on special teams.

Mama was signed on Dec. 12 off the Chiefs’ practice squad and was inactive for the last three games. Severin was in training camp and on the practice squad for a week. He signed a reserve/futures contract on Jan. 1 Cheap Mike Hughes Jersey , the same day Rehkow was signed.

Watson was signed by the Giants on Jan. 24.

The Green Bay Packers have signed first-round draft pick Jaire Alexander, a cornerback from Louisville.

Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst announced the deal Tuesday.

The Packers selected Alexander last month with the 18th overall pick . Alexander had a team-high five interceptions as a sophomore in 2016 before a knee injury limited him to six games last season. He also was a kick returner at Louisville.

Green Bay is hoping the additions of Alexander and second-round pick Josh Jackson of Iowa can boost a secondary that has been hit hard by injuries. The Packers allowed 30 touchdown passes last season Courtland Sutton Broncos Jersey , tied for the second-highest total of any team .

Phoenix Suns general manager Ryan McDonough said the ”overwhelming likelihood” is that the team will keep its No. 1 overall pick and not trade it away.

McDonough made the comment Friday after the first of what will be many pre-draft workouts of players on the Suns’ practice court.

The leading candidates for that No. 1 almost certainly will be worked out privately Leighton Vander Youth Esch Jersey , with the exception of Luka Doncic, the European sensation who still is playing in Spain.

”Obviously the agents have a lot of say,” McDonough said. ”They have a strong voice in the process. They’re worried about injuries, which we understand is part of it. So we’d love them to come in and compete against the other top guys at their position. I think for the guys in the mix at No. 1 that’s going to be tough for us to put together.”

The Suns won the lottery for the first No. 1 pick in the franchise’s 50-year history. In the days that followed, McDonough said the team would be open to trading that pick. But that seemed less likely when he described the criteria such a deal would have to entail.

”It would have to be a young, proven star player with multiple years on his contract, multiple years of team control,” McDonough said. ”Once you start whittling down the list, that list probably shrinks to a handful of players if not fewer players than that. So I think the overwhelming likelihood is that we keep the pick. However, we’re open, if those teams call us or we call them. But as of now obviously we’re planning on keeping it.”

McDonough insists there are a few players in the mix, but the names at the top according to most observers are Doncic and Arizona’s Deandre Ayton.

Born and raised in the Bahamas, the 7-foot-1 Ayton played his one college season just down Interstate 10 at the University of Arizona, where he averaged 20.1 points and 11.6 rebounds per game.

McDonough said he believes questions about Ayton’s defense stem from the fact he had to play alongside another 7-footer Jordan Howard Bears Jersey , Dusan Ristic, in college.

”So he was guarding away from the basket on the perimeter,” McDonough said. ”In the NBA, obviously, he’s a center. He’s a five. He slides well. He moves his feet well. He’s a tremendous athlete in terms of strength, fluidity, coordination, all of that.”

McDonough said Ayton ”has a high-level feel for the game, especially on the offensive end of the court. And from my experience guys who have that at the offensive end of the floor usually, in time, are able to translate that to the defensive end of the court as well.”

McDonough said he plans to try to get to Europe one more time to see Doncic.

”We’ve seen him play a lot,” McDonough said. ”I’ve personally seen him four or five times in the last seven or eight months, (assistant general manager) Pat Connelly’s seen him. Igor’s seen him more than anybody.”

New Suns coach Igor Kokoskov coached Doncic on the Slovenian national team that won the European championship last year.

McDonough was asked about the observation that Doncic lacks high-level athleticism. But the Suns GM noted that the young European guard is ”really, really big” – 6-foot-6 and weighs 218 pounds.

”Because he’s so skilled at that size and has such a good feel Odell Beckham Jr Jersey Youth , I think you don’t realize on tape how big he is,” McDonough said. ”He’s able to jab and create his own shot. He’s able to lower his shoulder and create space to overpower defenders. He’s adept at getting to the free throw line. I don’t have any concerns with him physically.”

On Friday, the Suns worked out a group of guards, most of them four-year college players. They included Tra Holder from Arizona State.

The Suns also have the No. 16 pick overall in the draft and, in the second round, Nos. 30 and 59.

But that No. 1 pick is the big one, something neither the Suns nor McDonough have dealt with before.

”I think there are some drafts that you prefer not to have the No. 1 pick just because there isn’t a player worthy of that,” he said. ”I think in some ways you’re set up to fail in that scenario. This year we feel the opposite. We feel there are four or five players who in normal drafts would be in the mix for No. 1 if not be the No. 1 pick.

”We view that as a good problem to have. It’s a really talented draft. I think this will be one that you look back on historically and say that was one of the better drafts in the last decade. And it’s great to kick it off No. 1.”

Sending two-time Pro Bowl defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul to Tampa Bay for two draft picks gives the New York Giants much-needed salary cap space for 2019 and allows the Buccaneers to continue rebuilding a line that had the fewest sacks in the NFL last season.

With the unexpected trade announced Thursday, the Giants take another step in their rebuilding under new general manager Dave Gettleman and the Bucs upgraded their defense in a bid to end a decade-long playoff drought.

The Giants will get Tampa Bay’s third-round pick (69th overall) in the draft in late April. The teams also will swap fourth-round picks, with the Bucs moving up to the 102nd pick and the Giants selecting 108th.

”Jason is an elite-level edge rusher who will make an immediate impact on our defense,” Buccaneers general manager Jason Licht said in a story posted on the team’s website . ”We are adding a two-time Pro Bowler who is passionate about the game and has established himself as one of the league’s premier defensive ends.”

Later in the day, the Giants announced they had terminated the contract of wide receiver and special teams player Dwayne Harris, who missed the final 11 games with a broken foot.

While the Pierre-Paul trade only clears up a couple of million dollars in cap space this year, the benefit for the Giants – who were 3-13 last season – will be in 2019 when it sheds roughly $18 million in cap space. That will be important with safety Landon Collins and receiver Odell Beckham Jr. both possibly looking for new contracts.

The effects will be more immediate for the Bucs Tyron Smith Jersey Womens , who were 5-11 last season and had 22 sacks.

Pierre-Paul, who had 8 sacks last season and 58 since being drafted with the 15th pick overall in 2010, joins a team that recently signed two members of the Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles, defensive end Vinny Curry and tackle Beau Allen. Former Bears tackle Mitch Unrein also was signed.

They join returning six-time Pro Bowl defensive tackle Gerald McCoy on a Bucs’ line that hasn’t had a player finish with double-digit sacks since Simeon Rice in 2005.

Not only does Pierre-Paul give the Bucs a pass rusher, the 29-year-old is an every-down player who has overcome a fireworks accident in 2015 that severely damaged his right hand. He signed a $62 million contract last year.

”We appreciate everything Jason has done for the Giants,” Gettleman said. ”He was a fine player for us.”

Pierre-Paul had 68 tackles, 8 sacks and two forced fumbles last season. He has played in 111 regular-season games with 85 starts, including all 16 games in 2017. He was selected to the Pro Bowl in 2011 and ’12 and All Pro in 2011, when he had a career-high 16.5 sacks, the fourth-highest total in Giants history, and helped New York win a Super Bowl.

Pierre-Paul also forced 13 fumbles and recovered seven, including one he returned for a touchdown. He intercepted two passes, returning each for a score. He also had defended 47 passes.

The move also sends Pierre-Paul back to Florida. He attended the University of South Florida and played high school football in the state.

The Giants are moving to a 3-4 defensive alignment under new coordinator James Bettcher, although they will continue to use some 4-3 formations.

This is Gettleman’s second trade since replacing Jerry Reese. He acquired linebacker Alec Ogletree from the Los Angeles Rams for fourth and sixth-round draft choices.

The Giants will have six picks in the draft Roquan Smith Bears Jersey , including the second overall. They also have the second pick in the second round (No. 34), two third-rounders (Nos. 66 and 69), the Bucs’ fourth-rounder and the second pick in the fifth round (No. 139). They traded their seventh-round pick to Pittsburgh last year for cornerback Ross Cockrell.

Harris did not have a catch last season. He had played in all 16 games with one start in 2016 and was selected for the Pro Bowl as a special teamer.

In his first season with New York in 2015, he played in 15 games with six starts and had a career-high 36 receptions for 396 yards and four touchdowns. He finished third in the NFL with a 28.7-yard average on 22 kickoff returns, including a 100-yard touchdown return against Dallas. He also averaged 10 yards on 34 punt returns, including an 80-yard touchdown against the Jets.

Harris was the third player in Giants’ history with kickoff and punt return touchdowns in the same season, the first in 60 years.

The Philadelphia Eagles have signed running back Matt Jones to a two-year contract and also agreed to terms on four-year deals with all five of their draft picks.

Jones was a third-round pick by the Washington Redskins in 2015. He had 950 yards rushing and six touchdowns while averaging 3.9 yards per carry in two seasons with the Redskins. He played for the Colts in 2017 and only carried five times. After Indianapolis selected two running backs in the draft Francisco Lindor Jersey , Jones was cut on May 1.

Jones will get a chance to earn a roster spot with the Super Bowl champions in a crowded backfield that includes Jay Ajayi, veteran Darren Sproles and Corey Clement.

The rookies agreeing to deals were: tight end Dallas Goedert Authentic Justin Jones Jersey , cornerback Avonte Maddox, defensive end Josh Sweat and offensive linemen Matt Pryor and Jordan Mailata.

Cavaliers coach Tyronn Lue has tweaked his starting lineup for Game 2 against Indiana.

Lue will start forwards J.R. Smith and Kyle Korver over Jeff Green and Rodney Hood as the Cavs try to even their Eastern Conference series on Wednesday night.

Green went 0 for 7 from the field and missed his three free throws in the opener. Hood scored nine points Anthony Miller Jersey Youth , but he was excused from shootaround Wednesday as his wife gave birth to twins.

Lue had wanted to start Korver in Game 1, but the elite shooter has been slowed by a sore right foot.

The Cavaliers started slowly in the opener and were beaten 98-80 by the Pacers, who snapped Cleveland’s 14-game winning streak in first-round games and a 21-game winning streak by LeBron James in playoff-opening series.

Lue has spent the entire season shuffling lineups due to injuries and three trades at the Feb. 8 deadline.

More NBA basketball:

HOUSTON — Nearly lost amid the cliched responses Houston Rockets guard Chris Paul uses to deflect the usual array of mundane questions was one nugget that perfectly encapsulates the Western Conference Finals.

It is a ballyhooed matchup featuring the two most efficient offenses in the NBA but defense will play an important role in deciding the series.

The Houston Rockets and Golden State Warriors present a cavalcade of All-Star performers.

On hand are Splash Brothers and point guards with Hall of Fame credentials sharing a backcourt; an MVP and Sixth Man of the Year; a versatilely skilled forward and a burgeoning big primed for a pay raise.

The Rockets are helmed by an innovative offensive mind, the Warriors stewarded by a former player and executive who has enjoyed rousing success on the bench.

For months, NBA fans have anticipated this spectacle of the rim runs and fast breaks, the hail of 3-pointers and sublime passing. But, for all their otherworldly talent, the Rockets and Warriors have no secrets. And, as Paul noted, how the teams defend on Monday in Game 1 at Toyota Center will set the tone for a series many assume will be decided on the offensive end.

Even with Paul and James Harden Daniel Kilgore Color Rush Jersey , Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Kevin Durant, Rockets-Warriors will be dictated by defensive might. Both teams closed the season ranked in the top 10 in defensive efficiency, and both have ratcheted up their efforts in the playoffs. Golden State is first in defensive rating (99.3), the Rockets second (102.1). Points won’t be at a premium, but how Draymond Green, P.J. Tucker, and Clint Capela defend will clearly dictate in-game strategy.

“He does a good job on guards,” Warriors coach Steve Kerr said of Green, who averaged a triple-double of 14.8 points Joel Iyiegbuniwe Jersey Bears , 11.8 rebounds, and 10 assists against the New Orleans Pelicans in the West semifinals. “Obviously, they’re an isolation team once everything shakes out so he’ll play a big role this series staying in front of Harden and Paul and also protecting the rim.

“He’ll play quite a bit against Capela. But he can also guard Tucker and (Rockets reserve forward Luc) Mbah a Moute. The whole key defensively these days is can you guard multiple positions and multiple actions, and he can do that. He’s a valuable player for us.”

The Rockets have outscored their opponents by 13.8 points per game on 3s in the playoffs while also averaging 52 drives per game, also tops in the NBA this postseason. Their offensive foundation is isolation out of the pick-and-roll, with Harden and Paul exploiting matchups off the dribble or feeding teammates camped behind the arc.

Houston paced the NBA averaging 1.12 points per possession on isolations during the regular season, and 14.1 percent of their possessions in the playoffs have been isolations, the highest among the four remaining teams.

How the Warriors corral Harden and Paul on drives and midrange jumpers will resonate. If they can siphon off lobs to Capela and close out on 3-pointer shooters, success will be theirs.

“Our goal is to not have many breakdowns, communicate and not foul Youth Jeremy Kerley Jersey , and play solid defense for 48 minutes,” Curry said. “And we’ve done a pretty good job of that so far throughout the playoffs. They’re a new, different type of challenge with how they go about isolation and shoot as many 3s as they do, but we’ve seen a lot of film. We’ve experienced it throughout the season the three games we played them and we’ve got to be ready.”

For Houston, the challenge is as daunting. Ever since Kerr turned to his “Hamptons Five” lineup of Curry, Durant, Green, Thompson and Andre Iguodala, the Warriors have outscored their opponents by 41 points per 100 possessions over 54 minutes. That lineup has assisted on 75 percent of its field goals and is playing at a torrid pace of 114 possessions per 48 minutes.

Defending the Warriors presents a multitude of challenges, starting with Durant. He shot 41.9 percent on 3s during the season and is shooting 60.9 percent from midrange in the playoffs.

“He’s maybe the best scorer in the league Authentic Richard Rodgers Jersey ,” Tucker said of Durant. “I don’t think there’s a right or wrong answer to that (defending Durant). You do what you can. You try to pick him up early, you try to get physical. You try to do stuff and he’s going to try to counter it. It’s a chess match.

“Those guys can score the ball. They’re going to score the ball. They’re going to score a bunch of points. It’s a product of sticking together and trying to minimize that as much as possible.”

That philosophy applies to both teams on both ends. Golden State produced a robust 61.8 effective field goal percentage against the Rockets during three regular-season meetings, leaving the onus on Houston to defend at a more rigorous clip. The Rockets countered with an effective field goal percentage (56.0) above their season average (55.1) against a team rife with stellar individual defenders, meaning Houston will continue to do what comes so efficiently.

“There will be iso,” Rockets coach Mike D’Antoni said. “Now whether it’s a little bit more or a little bit less, I think that depends on the game. But we’re not going to change up a whole lot of what we do.”

Houston’s Clint Capela certainly isn’t a household name Authentic Richard Rodgers Jersey , and doesn’t get nearly the attention other centers like Ruby Gobert and Karl-Anthony Towns receive.

But after he outshined those stars the first two rounds of the playoffs, the league is taking notice that Capela is one of the pivotal pieces to Houston’s success as the team prepares for its showdown with Golden State in the Western Conference finals starting Monday.

”What he does is as good or better than anybody in the league without a doubt,” coach Mike D’Antoni said.

Capela leads the NBA this postseason in blocks (2.8 a game) and offensive rebounds (4.1 per contest). He’s fourth with 12.2 rebounds a game overall and his 14.4 point average in the playoffs ranks third on the Rockets behind James Harden and Chris Paul. This came after a regular season where the fourth-year player posted career highs in virtually every statistical category. He averaged 13.9 points, 10.8 rebounds and 1.9 blocks in helping the Rockets to 65 wins and their first No. 1 seed in franchise history.

”What he does has been unbelievable,” D’Antoni said. ”And he’ll be overlooked. They’ll say he’s a role player and it’s not true.”

The Rockets insist that their high-powered, three-point centered offense wouldn’t work the way it does without the 6-foot-10 Capela. His work as the finisher in Houston’s pick and roll has proven valuable in the playoffs so far. His prowess in that area was on full display in Houston’s Game 5 win that eliminated the Timberwolves in the first round. He shot 12 of 14 and finished with a game-high 26 points to help Houston to the 122-104 victory.

Harden has often said this season that Capela is the player that makes everything else work for the Rockets, and said Friday that he’s undoubtedly developed into one of the league’s best centers.

”For sure,” Harden said. ”He’s done it for the last few years and he’s definitely showing it now in the postseason. You’ve got guys that just are comfortable with being in the NBA and you’ve got guys that actually want to have a legacy and Clint’s one of those guys.”

To that end Capela is constantly trying to learn and add new wrinkles to his game. He was always picking the brain of eight-time All-Star Dwight Howard when he backed him up in his first two NBA seasons and he’s developed a close relationship with former Rockets star and Hall of Famer Hakeem Olajuwon. Capela can often be seen working with and talking to Olajuwon at practice and Capela said Olajuwon has been impressed with the 23-year-old’s progress.

”He just said I was great and playing with confidence and energy and to keep it up,” Capela said.

While the Capela sees Olajuwon as one of his top mentors, he also appreciates a particular skill of another former Rocket. There are times after Capela blocks a shot that he wags one of his long fingers in the air as Dikembe Mutombo often did during his more than decade-long career in the NBA.

”Just having fun and also sending a message that it’s still my paint Jason Sanders Color Rush Jersey ,” Capela said with a laugh.

Capela has had at least one block in each of Houston’s playoff games this season and tied a career-best with six in Game 4 against the Jazz. Most impressive about that performance is that five of those blocks came in the last three minutes to help Houston secure the road victory.

He said that shot-blocking barrage was the product of his getting upset after receiving a rare technical earlier in the fourth quarter when he got tangled up with Donovan Mitchell and the two did a little jawing at each other.

”Whenever I got a little into it with this guy from the other team, it fired me up a little bit and I just decided that they wouldn’t score anymore, not in my paint,” he said. ”So this is what happened.”

Capela is happy with his improvement this season, but far from satisfied with his play. He knows he’ll have to keep getting better if the Rockets hope to reach the NBA finals.

”I’m just trying to be more consistent every game,” he said. ”I think during the playoffs I’ve gotten better with my intensity and by doing that I thought that our team got better too.”

Hunter Strickland realizes the San Francisco Giants have a fine-line for winning games, and he was disgusted to leave one on the field.

Walks were the closer’s culprit again.

Miguel Rojas followed Lewis Brinson’s RBI single with a go-ahead base hit as the Miami Marlins rallied against Strickland in the ninth inning and overcame an early four-run deficit, beating the Giants 5-4 on Monday night.

”It’s unacceptable,” Strickland said. ”Obviously I’m not thrilled about it right now, I didn’t do my job.”

Strickland (3-3) Joseph Noteboom Jersey Rams , San Francisco’s second reliever, blew his fourth save in 17 chances. He walked Brian Anderson to begin the ninth then surrendered J.T. Realmuto’s RBI double.

”All the credit to Andy in the ninth inning, putting that at-bat against their closer,” Rojas said of Anderson. ”That for sure rattled him right there. He wasn’t expecting that at-bat from the leadoff guy and I think everything started from that at-bat.”

Tayron Guerrero (1-2) pitched the eighth before Kyle Barraclough closed out the 2-hour, 47-minute game for his third save as Giants fans booed the home team.

Pablo Sandoval hit a two-run homer in the second and Andrew Suarez struck out seven, but San Francisco failed to hold a lead as it opened an extended stretch at home.

Joe Panik added an RBI single in the second after Buster Posey led off the inning with a double that center fielder Brinson misjudged, letting it go over his head.

Suarez had his third straight no-decision and second in a row against the Marlins after the Giants’ 5-4 loss at Miami on Wednesday, when the clubs played a four-game series in South Florida to begin last week.

Mac Williamson also had an RBI single as the Giants lost for just the second time in their last nine home games. They began a schedule with 20 of 26 at AT&T Park after nearly a month with only eight games in the Bay Area.

”For eight innings we played great baseball,” manager Bruce Bochy said.

Marlins starter Caleb Smith, who made his first start against the Giants last Wednesday and matched up against Suarez for a second straight outing Authentic Daryl Worley Jersey , was done after four innings, allowing four runs on six hits, striking out four and walking two.

Miami committed two errors and had managed only Rojas’ two-run single in the fifth before getting to Strickland. Among the Marlins’ most reliable hitters this month, Anderson played at AT&T Park for the first time and went 0 for 3 – making him 0 for 10 in his past three games.

BART ARRIVES

Giants’ first-round draft pick and catcher Joey Bart, the No. 2 overall selection who signed for a bonus of more than $7 million, arrived to AT&T Park for a stop before he returns to Arizona to get some at-bats before reporting to Class A short-season Salem-Keizer in the Northwest League.

”This is unbelievable,” he said. ”I’m lucky to be in this position. I’m ready to take off from here.”

Bart planned to ride BART – Bay Area Rapid Transit – on Tuesday.

He enjoyed the atmosphere at the ballpark.

”I’d love to be out here as soon as possible,” he said of reaching the big leagues.

JOHNSON’S GREETING

Marlins second-round pick Osiris Johnson of Alameda’s Encinal High – where cousin Jimmy Rollins and Dontrelle Willis also played – met manager Don Mattingly before the game and watched batting practice.

”I’ve seen a lot of good things,” Mattingly said, ”moving around at short Customized Dallas Cowboys Jerseys , swinging it.”

TRAINER’S ROOM

Marlins: Mattingly is hopeful 3B Martin Prado will return from a strained left hamstring that put him on the disabled list May 26 sometime before the All-Star break. Prado is on a running progression and taking groundballs and hitting back home. ”He’s been a surprise he’s doing this good this fast,” Mattingly said. ”He’s been 100 percent.” … 1B Garrett Cooper (bruised right wrist) played four innings at Class A Jupiter and will do so again Tuesday before continuing his rehab with Triple-A New Orleans.

Giants: RHP Johnny Cueto threw a 40-pitch, two-inning simulated game, facing Hunter Pence as one of the hitters, as he works back from inflammation in his pitching elbow. The Giants will determine the next step – starting a rehab appearance or throwing again to live hitters – based on how he feels Tuesday. … RHP Jeff Samardzija, on the disabled list for a second stint this time with tightness in his pitching shoulder, threw a bullpen and will make a rehab outing with Triple-A Sacramento on Thursday and then it will be determined if he needs another or is activated. … Athletic trainer Dave Groeschner will travel to Los Angeles to be with Evan Longoria as the third baseman has surgery Tuesday on his fractured left hand. … SS Brandon Crawford went on the paternity list for the birth of his son and fourth child and INF Kelby Tomlinson was recalled from Sacramento.

UP NEXT

Marlins: RHP Dan Straily (2-2, 4.23 ERA) is 4-0 with 2.82 against the Giants entering his seventh career start vs. San Francisco.

Giants: RHP Dereck Rodriguez (1-1, 4.34) makes his fourth career start after a no-decision in a 16-inning Giants win against the Marlins last Thursday.

Despite having a fastball that doesn’t reach 90 miles an hour Bo Scarbrough Color Rush Jersey , Wade LeBlanc effectively shut down one of the best lineups in the American League.

LeBlanc pitched into the eighth inning and Nelson Cruz had an RBI single as the Seattle Mariners beat the Boston Red Sox 1-0 Saturday night.

LeBlanc gave up just two hits and struck out nine over 7 2/3 innings. After a single by Mookie Betts on the opening at-bat of the game, he retired the next 22 batters until Eduardo Nunez singled with two outs in the eighth.

”What a changeup he had today. That has been his bread and butter his whole career, but today was probably the best one we’ve seen all year,” Mariners manager Scott Servais said. ”He knows his craft very well and when he gets on a roll like that, he just keeps riding it.”

LeBlanc (3-0) wasn’t a part of the Mariners starting rotation until the first week of May. But since replacing an injured Erasmo Ramirez in the rotation, LeBlanc has shined for the Mariners. He’s posted a 2.06 ERA in nine starts and Saturday’s gem was the best of the lot.

A near-capacity crowd at Safeco Field saluted LeBlanc with a standing ovation as he left the field after Nunez’s single.

”That’s a really neat moment. Guys that throw 86 (mph) don’t really get standing ovations really often,” LeBlanc said chuckling. ”I definitely wanted to kind of take them in and show my appreciation for it.”

Alex Colome got pinch-hitter Mitch Moreland to pop out to end the eighth, and Edwin Diaz struck out the side in the ninth for his 27th save.

It was LeBlanc’s first start of more than seven innings pitched since his first outing of the 2011 season with the San Diego Padres. His nine strikeouts were also his most since striking out 10 against the Los Angeles Dodgers that same season.

”He reminds me of that guy on the wall over there,” Red Sox manager Alex Cora said gesturing toward a photo of Jamie Moyer. ”LeBlanc was outstanding. Back-door cutters, front-door sinkers and mixed up his breaking ball halfway through the game Cheap Leighton Vander Esch Jersey , all on the edge of the strike zone.”

LeBlanc had a little help from Dee Gordon at second base with diving stops to rob Rafael Devers and Xander Bogaerts of base hits.

The Mariners needed LeBlanc’s stellar outing as they struggled to get a lot going against knuckleballer Steven Wright.

Wright (2-1) held Seattle to just one run and five hits with two walks and four strikeouts over seven innings.

Three singles – all to left field – off Wright in the third inning gave the Mariners their early advantage. Gordon reached with one out while Mitch Haniger and Cruz each singled with two down.

”We got just enough off of a really tough knuckleballer,” Servais said. ”Our guys are not used to seeing that and he was really good. The ball was dancing everywhere. He threw a lot of strikes with it.

”Our guy was just a little bit better.”

It snapped Wright’s string of 25 1/3 scoreless innings, which topped the stretch of 25 scoreless innings by Oakland’s Daniel Mengden for the longest in the majors this season.

GILBERT SIGNED

The Mariners signed first-round pick Logan Gilbert earlier in the day. The right-handed pitcher from Stetson University posted a 2.52 ERA while going 11-1 with 157 strikeouts and 23 walks in 15 starts. His 157 strikeouts lead NCAA Division-I baseball this season.

TRAINER’S ROOM

Red Sox: LHP Drew Pomeranz played catch in the outfield on Friday and is expected to do so again on Sunday. Manager Alex Cora said Pomeranz still felt stiff from his left biceps tendinitis but that they didn’t feel it was anything serious. ”He was moving around better today,” Cora said.

Mariners: RHP Juan Nicasio threw a live bullpen session prior to Saturday’s game. Nicasio is expected to be activated from the disabled list during Seattle’s upcoming series in New York. He’s eligible to come off the disabled list on Sunday after having fluid buildup in his right knee.

UP NEXT

Red Sox: LHP Eduardo Rodriguez (8-1) has won each of his last five starts and hasn’t allowed more than two runs in a start since May 15. He’s posted a 2.15 ERA over 29 1/3 innings with 30 strikeouts over his last five outings.

Mariners: RHP Mike Leake (7-3) has pitched at least six innings in each of his last five starts, posting a 3-0 record with a 1.77 ERA over that span.

The Nashville Predators and Winnipeg Jets put on a fast-paced, thrilling playoff show that reminded everyone why they finished ahead of everybody else in the NHL’s regular season.

Thanks to Kevin Fiala, the Presidents’ Trophy winners go to Winnipeg breathing a little easier.

Fiala scored off a 2-on-1 5:37 into double overtime to give the Predators a 5-4 victory over the Jets on Sunday night in Game 2, tying the Western Conference semifinal series.

”Very happy that we won,” Fiala said. ”That’s all that matters. It was a huge game for us to tie it up 1-1. It was very big for us.”

Nashville had the NHL’s best road record during the regular season, but the Predators got the split they needed before Game 3 on Tuesday night in Winnipeg where the Jets posted the league’s best home record.

”It’s huge Lamar Jackson Jersey Ravens , a big difference being 2-0 or 1-1,” said Predators goalie Pekka Rinne, who had a career playoff-best 46 saves. ”Obviously, we’ll take this. It was an emotional game, and now it’s time to go on the road and we need to steal a couple of wins in their building.”

Craig Smith and Fiala skated up on a 2-on-1, and Jets defenseman Dustin Byflugien failed to block Smith’s cross-ice pass to Fiala who beat goalie Connor Hellebuyck with a backhander.

Ryan Johansen scored twice, Viktor Arvidsson had a goal and two assists, and P.K. Subban had a goal and an assist as Nashville won both its 100th postseason game as a franchise and coach Peter Laviolette’s 50th with the team. Filip Forsberg also had three primary assists for the first time in the postseason in his career.

Laviolette said at one point in the second period the game looked like a track meet both teams were skating so fast. He noted the Jets finished just three points behind Nashville.

”They’re a good team as well,” Laviolette said.

Mark Scheifele scored twice and had an assist. Byflugien had a goal and an assist, and Brandon Tanev had a goal for Winnipeg Youth Vita Vea Jersey , which lost its first multiple-overtime game for a franchise that just won its first playoff series in the first round.

”It’s a sucky way to lose, but we played a better game tonight than we did on Friday,” Scheifele said. ”That’s a positive. We can be upset for 10 minutes and then after that, we’ve got to get our rest and then get ready for Tuesday.”

Tanev tied it at 3, putting the puck past Pekka Rinne’s right skate at 5:11 of the third. Johansen answered 34 seconds later, skating around Jets defenseman Toby Enstrom and beating Hellebuyck top shelf.

But Scheifele forced overtime with his fourth goal in this series and eighth this postseason with 1:05 left in regulation and Hellebuyck pulled for the extra attacker.

The Predators brought star Carrie Underwood in for the U.S. anthem as a ”proud hockey wife” of Nashville center Mike Fisher, and Marcus Mariota brought the NFL’s Tennessee Titans offensive linemen to wave the rally towels. Pro Bowl left tackle Taylor Lewan held up a huge catfish before they chugged beers – Lewan using the catfish as a funnel.

After throwing up a postseason-high 48 shots in losing Game 1 on Friday night, the Predators wasted no time getting on the board this time. Johansen scored 27 seconds in on Nashville’s first shot and a 1-0 lead, snapping Winnipeg’s streak of 10 straight games scoring the first goal with the Jets going 9-1-0 in that stretch dating back to the regular season.

The Jets made up for that by scoring twice 29 seconds apart to grab the lead. Byflugien scored between Rinne’s pads on a 4-on-4 at 12:47, and Scheifele made it 2-1 with a power-play goal at 13:16 of the period.

Subban tied it with a slap shot for Nashville’s first power-play goal of the series and the Norris Trophy finalist’s first goal this postseason at 5:04 of the second. That brought the sold-out crowd to life again Cheap Baker Mayfield Jersey , and Rinne settled down as well. A couple minutes later, he made a big pad save on a shot by Kyle Connor and then gloved a shot from Byflugien.

Arvidsson gave Nashville a 3-2 lead with a slap shot from the right circle at 18:41 of the second.

Coach Paul Maurice said his Jets at least go home with a split and isn’t sure that home ice will be a huge advantage with matchups not changing.

”There will be a little bit more excitement when Patty rings one off the post,” Maurice said of his forward, Patrik Laine.

NOTES: The Preds are 3-3 in multiple OT games in franchise history. … Johansen’s goal was the fastest goal at home in the postseason for Nashville and second fastest overall. … This was Forsberg’s second three-point game in the playoffs for his career and third multi-point game this postseason. … Scheifele now has points in four straight games, the first with multiple points in four or more consecutive playoff games since Paul Martin in the first four games of the 2014 first-round with Pittsburgh.

Kyler Murray says he is committed to playing football for Oklahoma this season even after becoming a top-10 pick in the Major League Baseball draft.

Murray Cheap Tracy Walker Jersey , the favorite to replace Heisman Trophy winner Baker Mayfield as the Sooners' starting quarterback, was selected ninth overall by the Oakland Athletics on Monday night, putting him in position for a signing bonus of about $4.8 million to play baseball.

The speedy Murray has been a major league prospect since high school. He played outfield for the Sooners and hit .296 with 10 homers, 13 doubles and three triples in 189 at-bats this season.

Still, his selection so early in the first round was a surprise, and it could mean a change in career paths for the former five-star football recruit.

The slot value for the No. 9 pick is $4,761,500. If the A's don't sign him Cheap Rick Leonard Jersey , they would lose that amount from their available bonus pool of $9,553,200 this year but would get the No. 8 pick as compensation next year. The deadline for Murray to sign is July 6.

On a conference call with reporters Monday night, Murray initially put off questions about whether he would give up college football for pro baseball.

"Right now, I'm really not focused on the football-baseball situation," he said. "I'm just soaking in the night."

But when asked again about the coming football season, Murray said he had informed the Athletics that baseball would have to wait.

"I will be playing football this season," Murray said. "Confirmed."

Murray could sign with Oakland and still play for Oklahoma Kareem Martin Jersey Giants , putting his baseball career on hold until 2019. But will the A's want to risk their 5-foot-11, 195-pound first-rounder playing a season of football 鈥?especially as a dual-threat quarterback in the Big 12?

"I think that Oakland obviously feels that there are certain inherently appealing aspects to being a professional baseball player that put us in a position to be competitive for the very best athletes, and that's important for the future of our sport," Commissioner Rob Manfred said at the baseball draft in Secaucus, New Jersey.

Murray did not play baseball during his first two years in college and batted only .122 in 49 at-bats for the Sooners in 2017. He credited playing in the Cape Cod League for top prospects last summer with helping him regain his form.

"I'm a very confident guy no matter what I'm doing," Murray said. "With the reps and time put in I feel like I can do anything."

Murray was one of the most celebrated high school football players in Texas history, going 42-0 as a starter and leading powerhouse Allen High to three state titles before signing with Texas A&M in 2015. He played eight games and made three starts as a freshman for the Aggies, passing for 686 yards and running for 335. But he left the team before its bowl game and transferred to Oklahoma the next season.

He sat out to satisfy NCAA rules in 2016 Tarik Cohen Jersey , and figured to be in line to start in 2017. But Mayfield, who also transferred to Oklahoma, was granted an extra year of eligibility and returned to the Sooners for his final college season.

That left Murray with scant playing time in 2017. He went 18 of 21 for 359 yards passing and three touchdowns, and ran for 142 yards on 14 carries. He made one start, playing the first series against West Virginia after Mayfield was benched for sideline antics against Kansas the week before. Oklahoma reached the College Football Playoff last year, losing in overtime to Georgia in the Rose Bowl.

With Mayfield off to the NFL as the No. 1 overall pick by the Cleveland Browns in April, Murray seems set to get his turn at the helm. Oklahoma football coach Lincoln Riley declined to name a starter after spring practice, when Murray competed with sophomore Austin Kendall.

During the spring game M.J. Stewart Jersey Elite , Murray was 11 of 21 for 85 yards and a touchdown and rushed for 35 yards. Kendall completed 11 of 18 passes for 134 yards and a score. Murray is small for an NFL quarterback, but that size is not as much of an issue in college. He is a potentially dynamic player who could make Oklahoma the Big 12 favorite again.

"I fully expect him to be with us," Riley told reporters in Norman, Oklahoma, last week.

After Murray was selected by the Athletics, Oklahoma football's official Twitter account posted: "Congrats @TheKylerMurray! #OUDNA"
